My first excerpt ~ Craving Wildfires

Writers need to share their work, so here goes. Be gentle it’s my first time. 🙂

Sander was speechless. Was she really going? After what he’d just told her? The name Theo was often enough to fill people with fear.

‘Tali! What the bloody hell are you playing at? Tell her what he’ll do?’ He pointed his finger in Alicia’s direction and waved it back accusingly at Tali.

‘You’re a fine one to talk about telling people things, why don’t you tell first?’ Tali threw the pile of clothes at his feet.

Alicia returned quicker than he anticipated. Even in his haze of anger, his body still reacted to her. His gaze raked her body in a will of its own. Deep pink material flowed around her nape and plunged to her midriff, moulding to her figure before falling away to the floor. Her legs wove in and out of the layers as she walked into the cavern. He licked his lips; his mouth suddenly gone dry. Alicia strolled past him, avoiding eye contact.

Alicia said, ‘We should hurry, maybe are host will have some news of my father.’

Tali offered her hand, Alicia accepted with a slight tremble in her arm. Tali clasped a solid sliver cuff over Alicia’s wrist. Sander growled in protest.

‘Why does she need a cuff? Alicia can’t you see the danger your in.’ Sander’s breathing strained, he tried not to shout.

‘Princess, you’ll need this to help you to flash,’ Tali said.

He watched Alicia crinkled her brow in confusion.

‘Move between realms. We will rematerialize in a new destination within the blink of an eye.’

More like a noose for the soul. He watched helpless while Alicia accepted her fate. She didn’t even flinch at the prospect of leaving him and why would she?

‘Don’t worry Alicia, Sander will find his way, after all he has him own cuff.’ Tali winked at him.

Sander cursed, so much for keeping secrets. Tali had only ever been interested in self-preservation. And how’s that working out for you, Tali? He thought.

He glared at the mystically reinforced cuffs around Tali’s arms, Theo’s handy work. The girls weaved their fingers together, cementing their intent.

‘Please Alicia, I’m begging …’ she turned to face him, silencing him at the same time. She held her posture but her fear was visible in her wide eyes. She breathed out, trembling a little. Then cast her lashes down cutting their connection. Why was she going when she understood the danger?

  1. Intriguing story, I am interested to learn more about these characters and this obviously mystical world you are creating. Already the idea of travelling through realms has me curious.

Just to let you know hun, the scene repeats. Think you pressed copy twice.
